COOL COUGARS Supporting Our Veterans @the Parade 11.10.2007

Weather was on our side this morning...though there were a few drop here and there, it didn't deter people from supporting our veterans and honoring those who have served us in the past, by showing up at the parade. A couple of our COOL COUGARS didn't make it--Will, Bennett & Tate. We miss you all; hopefully, you're all okay.

The 8th Annual Parade is held as a reminder of the armistice of November 11, 1918 ending World War I. The parade route started from 700 blocks of NW WALL near Downtown Library and was to begin at 11 a.m. Of course, it seemed we waited forever for our lineup. For the first time since our move to Bend, we actually saw and heard an F-15 flyover.

An old COOL mom, Mary Wells, surprised us with her brief visit. Her son Tyndell joined a boys cub pack recently through a Christian Homeschooling Group. Mary felt good about the whole classical education model, reconnecting with her church, and making friends with COCHE. We wish her and the family very best in her newfound journey.

Bond, Wall and parts of Franklin Streets were closed from 10:00 to 12:00. We witnessed the memorial dedication taking place after the parade by the Newport bridge on the way home.
