The cock is crowing,
The stream is flowing,
The small birds twitter,
The lake doth glitter,
The green field sleeps in the sun;
The oldest and youngest
Are at work with the strongest;
The cattle are grazing,
Their heads never raising;
There are forty feeding like one!
Like an army defeated
The snow hath retreated,
And now doth fare ill
On the top of the bare hill;
The Plowboy is whooping-anon-anon:
There’s joy in the mountains;
There’s life in the fountains;
Small clouds are sailing,
The rain is over and gone!

One who ventures into unknown or unclaimed territory to settle.
One who opens up new areas of thought, research, or development.Life is a fantastic voyage. Won't you come along through some inspirational thought I received today from K-Bomb
(who is blogless as far as I know), a knitter? Be sure to check out
her latest ingenious Pioneer top pattern. It's on my
expanding project queue.
I think back to when I was a child and the power would go out at my grandparents' house. Reality was put on pause and, for a couple of days, I felt like a pioneer in a new world. Everything within my grasp was looked at with new eyes. The couch was no longer what it seemed; for it had turned into a fortress in the mountains, and the carpet was red hot lava my brother and I had to ski down with pillows on our feet. Creativity and imagination ruled this small chunk of time.
Your world is only as small as you deem it to be. You discover new things every day. Sometimes it helps to turn off the noise and just sit in a pile of yarn, thinking of all the new possibilities that are waiting to be made.
On a side note,
Tammy has a wonderful series on
Get Started On a Homeschool Makeover. Whether you homeschool or not, taking a closer look of the series would change your life.
